E-3 visa renewal — can I do it from Mexico?
My E-3 is up for renewal. I've heard you can do a quick trip to Mexico to get the stamp. Anyone done this recently?

Yes, done it twice via Tijuana. Super easy — fly into San Diego, Uber to the border, walk across to the consulate in TJ. The whole thing takes about 4 hours if you have your docs sorted.
Ben — what docs do you need? I have my DS-160, passport, and employer letter. Anything else?
Also worth knowing: the TJ consulate is usually much faster than renewing in Australia. I got my stamp same day. The appointment slots fill up fast though — book 3-4 weeks ahead.
One thing to watch: if your employer has changed since your last E-3, make sure you have a new LCA (Labor Condition Application) approved before you go. Learned that the hard way.
